Privacy Policy
Effective 26 July 2026 · Rally beta
The short version: Rally collects only what it needs to match tennis players — your account, your tennis profile, and your match activity. There are no ads, no third-party trackers, and we never sell your data. Everything is stored in the EU (Frankfurt, Germany). Your exact location and contact details are never shown to other players.
Who we are
Rally is operated by Software Capital LLC ("we"). For anything related to your data, contact privacy@softwarecapital.io.
What we collect
- Account: email address and a password (stored only as a secure hash).
- Profile: first name, optional last name and photo, a self-chosen approximate area (e.g. "Stuttgart-West" — never your address), self-reported skill level, optional bio and rating label, and your playing preferences (formats, intents, surfaces, travel radius).
- Availability: the weekly windows and one-time slots you set, your preferred notice period, and whether matching is paused.
- Gear (optional): equipment you choose to record — racquets, shoes, preferred ball, and private notes.
- Match activity: matches you create or join, invitations and join requests, messages in a match's chat (visible to that match's participants only), and your post-match confirmations and feedback.
- Safety: players you block, and reports you file (a reason and optional details). Your block list is visible only to you; reports are seen only by our review team — never by other players.
What other players can see — and what they can't
- Visible: your first name, approximate area, self-reported level (always labelled as self-reported), bio, playing preferences, and aggregated reliability indicators (e.g. show-up rate with a confidence level).
- Visible only if you turn it on: your gear list. Your gear notes stay private even then.
- Never visible to other players: your email address, last name, exact location, individual feedback answers (only aggregates are ever shown — a single report can never label a player), and your private notes.
What we deliberately don't do
- No advertising and no ad identifiers.
- No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs in the app.
- No access to your GPS location, contacts, camera roll, or calendar.
- No selling or renting of personal data — to anyone, ever.
This website itself sets no cookies. It loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when the page loads, as with any content delivery network.
Where your data lives
All data is processed and stored on Google Cloud infrastructure in Frankfurt, Germany (region europe-west3), with Google acting as our hosting processor. Data is encrypted in transit.
Why we process it (legal bases)
We process your data to provide the service you signed up for — creating your account, matching you with compatible players, and coordinating matches (performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) — and, for the aggregated reliability indicators that keep the community trustworthy, on the basis of legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Retention — and a beta caveat
We keep your data while your account exists and delete it on request. Please note: Rally is currently a beta. The environment may occasionally be reset during this phase, which deletes stored data. Don't treat Rally as the only record of anything important to you yet.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your data, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest. Email privacy@softwarecapital.io and we'll act on it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority.
Children
Rally is not directed at children and is intended for adults aged 18 and over.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version appears here with an updated effective date. For significant changes we'll tell you in the app.
